Founded in 2006, Tierras Mayas is among the top selection of language schools in Mexico. We believe that the key to learn Spanish is to create an atmosphere in which the students feel comfortable and are able to express themselves. Each of our teachers has a passion for teaching and the experience necessary to deliver a comfortable, high quality class to each student.

We offer a small family atmosphere in which you can enjoy the company of other students and teachers. We hold group lunches every Friday.

At Tierras Mayas you will find opportunities to come in contact with and immerse yourself in the indigenous cultures of Mexico.


We share these cultural treasures through of a variety of workshops, excursions and activities in addition to your Spanish classes.

We also offer a volunteer program if you are interested in donating your time and getting to know the people of San Cristobal in a more intimate way.

COURSES OFFERED

GROUP CLASSES:

Beginners/Intermediates/Advanced.

15 hours per week

3 hours daily – Monday thru Friday
1½ hrs. of grammar, 1½ hrs. of conversation per day
2 different teachers.
(minimum 2 students)



PRIVATE CLASSES: ONE ON ONE

Beginners/Intermediates/Advanced.

15 hours per week

3 hours daily: Monday thru Friday
(starting any day of the week, however Monday is preferred).
1½ hrs. of grammar, 1½ hrs. of conversation per day
2 different teachers



INTENSIVE CLASSES

Beginners/Intermediates/Advanced.

20 hours per week

4 hours daily: Monday thru Friday
(starting any day of the week, however Monday is preferred)
1 grammar class (1½hrs.)
1 conversation class (1½hrs.)
1 class - theme selected by the student (1hr)
3 different teachers


We offer home stays as an experience to help you practice your Spanish as well as make long-lasting friendships. In addition to this, a home stay will allow you to directly experience and appreciate Mexican culture.
